Three types of nosepieces are available. The BD quintuple and universal quintuple nosepieces feature a mechanism that prevents undesirable flashes when switching from brightfield to darkfield. In the universal quintuple nosepiece, when you pull the DIC slider during darkfield observation, the nosepiece instantaneously shields unwanted stray light with a shielding tube.
