Mounting Instructions for Coolpix

To a camera port:
- Attach the UR-E6 Step Down Adapter to the camera
- Attach the MDC-A Relay lens to the camera, in front of the camera's
lens.
- Attach the microscope's C-mount
- Attach the C-mount to the microscope. Rotate the camera and mount to
the desired position and tighten the C-mount in place.
Note: Use a 1x C-mount such as Nikon's ISA 1x
C-mount (#83043) to assure the maximum field of view.
To a 30mm Diameter Eyepiece Tube:
- Attach the UR-E6 Step Down Adapter to the camera
- Remove the outer sleeve of the MDC-A Relay Lens by first loosening the
three set screws with a small jewelers-type screwdriver. Then slide the sleeve
off.
- Attach the MDC-A Relay lens to the camera, in front of the camera's
lens.
- Remove an eyepiece from an eyepiece tube.
- Insert the bottom of the MDC-A into the eyepiece tube.
- Rotate the camera to a stable position. The weight of the camera my
cause it to rotate from some positions.
Microscopy Settings
- Set Focus to Infinity: Select the infinity mode by pressing the "AF"
button till the mountain symbol appears (page 76 of user manual)
- Set Exposure Mode to Aperture Priority: Press the MODE button and rotate
the command dial until "A" appears on the LCD display. Use the command dial
to select the lowest F-number (pages 89 & 93)
- Fill the camera's field of view: use the Zoom controls (T & W)
to fill the field of view
